BODY OF BLISS: MEDITATION IN MOTION with JAMES HIGGINS
TUESDAY . 14 JUNE | 19:30 - 21:30 | €35Asanas are gateways into higher consciousness and templates of information that lead us to a state of fluid concentration and energetic connection we call Samadhi. It is in this state of mind we have to opportunity to tune into a greater intelligence of spiritual awareness which is intuitive and fluid rather than intellectual and static. It takes focus, trust, and also a grace in order to enter higher states of healing and wholeness. Something must enter us to carry us forward. With this awareness we gain the freedom and peace of liberation which it provides. Once the limitations of the intellect soften and the deeper states of aliveness present themselves one has the opportunity to heal their perceived limitations and organize the deepest connection to themselves and larger scope of the universe they are a part of. This is class will root out what is hidden and engage a highly sensory experience of the body beyond ones everyday practice and experience. Be prepared to open yourself up in a methodical and easy going but strong and steady way.
With focus on strong steady engagement in standing poses, balance poses, back bending, arm balances, and refining our overall understanding of anatomical technique. Furrther focus on seated forward bends, hips, twists, and inversions. Class will be led in a highly supportive environment where the students best selves will shine. Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Mantra, and Pranayama will begin the session. Overall intentions will encourage all participants to delve deeply into their personal practice and spiritual evolution as well as gain greater strength through their understanding of physical work. This format will provide emotional healing through mindful awareness practices, and assist in developing sensitivity to attune ones overall energy system toward a greater sense of well being. This class is perfect for the person wishing to work deeply, clear out the inner house, organize ones overall chakra template, allow new information to enter, and move whatever is stagnant or stuck to be processed and cleansed. In order to radiate a deeper connection to life and our spiritual selves and let more light into our experience of ourselves one must continually find an inner and outer orientation of great care of kindness. This would be the optimal stance of a maturing practitioner. Meaningful practice creates positive change. This truth organizes a more beautiful present experience and visionary future for ourselves. We can take these deeper truths and realizations to a dynamic day of practice and further explore our physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, and soul work from a place of high aspiration and loving connection. About James Higgins James is a leading instructor in the San Francisco Bay Area where he was The Teachers Director for Yoga Works in 2009. Interweaving his long-term dedicated studies of Vinyasa Yoga with his Vipassana meditation experience, James offers a unique, appealing, and challenging Hatha Vinyasa practice. With a strong emphasis on the integration of physical, mental and emotional wellness, each class holds the intention for peaceful healing, personal evolution, and a deeper understanding of the heart. Using Buddhist wisdom, spiritual insight, personal development and conscious leadership he composes a journey that enables his students to experience the very best of themselves in body, mind and spirit.
