Through the study of asana, mindfulness, lifestyle philosophy, positive psychology, anatomy and beyond, watch the changes unfold on and off your mat!

What will I learn?
Asana
Asana, defined as “seat,” is the physical practice of yoga. Throughout this training, you will learn healthy alignment within many vinyasa postures, how to assist and adjust students in poses, common injuries, contraindications, how and when to make postural modifications, and the benefits of postures. Additionally, learn modications and especially beneficial postures for prenatal students.
Discover how to create a balance of effort and ease (sthira sukha) within every posture through the use of proper alignment, pranayama, bandhas, and intention. Observe, teach, read, discuss, and practice to gain a comprehensive understanding of the material.
Pranayama, Meditation, & Mindfulness
Learn about the muscles that aid in the respiration process, how and when to practice various pranayama techniques, and how to teach these techniques as well. Pranayama can deepen an asana practice, be used as a tool for dealing with depression and anxiety, and can be beneficial in many other circumstances off the mat.
Several meditation techniques will be explored via discussion and practice. We will look at research studies and results pertaining to various techniques to give you a better understanding of how meditation works within the brain. You will be encouraged to establish and maintain a regular meditation practice at home.
Gain an understanding of what a practice of mindfulness entails, how to embody it, and its affects on relationships.
Anatomy & Physiology
Through reading, lecture, palpating muscles, and asana practice, learn basic anatomy and physiology and how they apply to a yoga practice. Learn how the body moves and how to adapt a practice for various physical particularities. An understanding of anatomy and physiology can also greatly transform your personal practice.
Yogic & Practical Philosophy
Throughout this program, some of the philosophies relating to yoga will be explored through discussions, experiments, reading, and writing. Additionally, we will dive into practical philosophy as it relates to your practice, teaching, and life off the mat.
Challenge your reductive views of self and other, inspire inclusivity in your life, and invite transformation of thought and action.
Ayurveda
Learn about the 5,000 year old system of natural healing and how to apply aspects of Ayurveda to your own life. Deepen your understanding and appreciation of self-care as you discover the principles of this holistic approach to living a balanced life.
Sanskrit
In the context of your yoga practice, explore this classical language of India. Learn the pronunciation and translation of many Sanskrit terms, gain an understanding of its historical significance, and learn to practice chants in Sanskrit.
Assisting, Adjusting, & Reading Bodies
Learn to see the particularities of your students' bodies and how to make suitable adaptations within the asana. With this knowledge, explore the art of offering hands-on assists and adjustments to enhance your students' practice.

Hanna van der MeerHanna discovered yoga during her professional dance training; soon she experienced the benefits that her yoga practice had on her. The classes gave her a place where she could connect body, mind and breath and allowed her to live fully in the moment. Slowly, yoga integrated into her life. Hanna did her yoga teacher training in the UK with Mercedes Ngoh and has been developing since.
Hanna’s vinyasa classes are a meditation in motion and Hanna’s yin classes are a meditation in "stillness." Hanna loves music and in every class she tries to create a certain ‘flow’, physically but also for the mind. She approaches the body in an intelligent way, incorporating her knowledge derived from life-long dancing. She is also influenced by mindfulness and by techniques such as body rolling/myofascial release. Hanna hopes by sharing yoga that people can take something away from it for themselves, whether that is a mind-body connection, mindfulness, serenity, inner joy, love, or something else. She hopes to contribute to a positive change in people and therefore create a little positive chain reaction.

Reviews
"Not often have I met a person, who is so passionate about her profession as Mandy. Besides being passionate, Mandy has lots of knowledge, experience, dedication, humour and patience. With an amazing energy, Mandy led us through this teacher training program which includes so much more than only the understanding of asanas (postures). We spend lots of time understanding and discussing the yoga philosophy, sharing experiences (and emotions) and practicing teaching... And now? Sometimes I stil cannot believe it, but it is true: I am a certified yoga teacher and every week I teach a class. I feel that I developed myself, not only as a yoga teacher, but as a person. Of course there is always more to learn and understand, but the foundations are there. Big thanks to Mandy for that."
